Why Summer Was So Much Better When You Were A Kid

I always looked forward to summer when I was in school. The countdown started after spring break. My friends and I started making plans early. Summer meant no school, no stress, and no responsibility. I got to do whatever I wanted.

I could hang out with my friends; go to the park or on vacation. I knew I would have fun. Those days are now behind me. I still love summer, but it’s not the same.

Summer was better was better as a kid because, Ice cream didn’t cause you to gain weight. It was a great treat. Now, I care about my body in a swimsuit. As a kid, there were no boobs, fat or belly. I miss those days.

The days of summer were long. We could stay up late and play all day. Now, the party is over. I could stay in the pool until I got wrinkly.

Now, my daughter does that. I remember riding my bike to my friend’s house and ringing there doorbell to ask them to play. That’s weird to think about now because I would just text them instead.

I went to summer camp and had a blast. Now, my daughter goes to camp. Watching TV and movies was a fun thing to do. As an adult, there are things to be done. I don’t watch much TV.

I’m going to make sure my kids make memories and get to experience the things I did. I’m hoping to get a tan, have a drink by a pool and relax. I know their summer will be great!
