When Parent’s become “Santa”

thank you santa- (2)

As a child, there nothing more exciting as counting the days until Santa Clause arrives. I remember anxiously waiting for Christmas Day.

My older sister did tell me one year that Santa wasn’t real, I was disappointed. Time goes by and I realize that the magic of Santa Clause lives on. As a parent, I have become Santa for my kids.

My oldest is five and she has told me specific toys she wants for Christmas. It was fun to go buy them, knowing how thrilled she will be. My youngest is only 21 months, but I bought him things that he will enjoy and I’m excited to give them to him.

I wrapped the gifts and signed the tags from “Santa”. They are hidden in a closet until Christmas Eve. I can’t wait to see the kids eyes light up when they open their gifts. I’m helping to create magic for them and it’s so fun!

I know that in a few years my daughter will find out the truth. Then I will tell her to keep the secret and become “Santa” for her brother. That way, she can help bring the magic! In a way Santa Clause does exist, because we parents are him. The man himself isn’t real, but his spirit is. On Christmas Day, that spirit will shine through in homes everywhere!
