The Joys and Tribulations of Moving

moving-boxes-things-forgetNext month, my family and I will be moving to a new house. We decided to go to the suburbs, Yes we are leaving the city.  I’ve come to realize that moving involves a lot of waiting, preparing and stress! Change is difficult for me, but I’m ready to do it.

Change is difficult for me, but I’m ready to do it.

I have been getting the kids ready for the move. We are starting to pack.  My daughter is excited for her new room and new school.  My son is only two, so he has no idea what is happening. I like that he will grow up in the house and all his memories will be there.

I’m reflecting on all the memories we have made in our current home. From bringing the children home from the hospital to their first steps. We had many parties in the basement and back yard.  We enjoyed great meals in the kitchen. We lived here for 8 years. Now we moving to our forever home.

Things will be different, but they will be great! I’m looking forward to meeting new people, exploring the area, and most importantly; making the new house a loving home.

I can’t wait to start this new adventure! What kind of advice or tips do you have for moving? What was the transition like? What emotions did you feel?

Thanks, Erica Coghlan
